The University was pleased to grant affiliation to B.Sc. Physics major in the year 1979.
VISION AND MISSION
The Department of Physics has a missionary Zeal of providing higher education to the economically and socially discriminated community of Southern end of India. The Department stands for providing opportunities to the students towards creativity, team spirit and service with dedication, devotion and discipline. Also our Department is imparting scientific awareness among the students through suitable syllabi.
FACULTY
The Department of Physics started functioning with three faculty members, Prof. P. Revichandran (H.O.D), Thiru. V. Nagarajan and Israel Mansingh. Thiru. M. Antonymuthu joined as Assistant Professor in the Department on 17.08.1970, and Thiru. P. Kumaresan joined in the year 1974. Thiru. S. Ramaligam and Thiru. R. Selvanathan joined as Assistant Professor in the year 1988, and Tmt. C. Kaladevi in the year 1991. Presently, the Department of Physics has five teaching faculty and Thiru. R. Selvanathan is the Head of the Department.
