The Pre-Doctoral Department of Tamil was established in the academic year 2008-2009 with approved seats for 12 students. The Department is headed by Dr. R. Thilaga. In the academic year 2017-18, the student strength was increased to 15 seats. The Department continuously produces 100% result from 2008 to 2017. These batches of students obtained M.Phil. Degree and are placed successfully. Special lectures and seminars are conducted every year for the welfare of the students. Students present papers and review the trending books. The organize debates on a chosen ‘Kural’. Latest news and other social issues are discussed in the classroom. The department conducts quiz to update the knowledge of the students. The students use the College and University libraries and also the public libraries.
