P.G Department of Tamil was established in the academic year 2006-2007 with approved seats for 16 students. In the academic year 2017-18, it was increased to 30 seats. The department consists of 5 eminent teachers among which four of them hold Doctoral degree. The first Head of the Department was Dr. M. Selvam and the successors were Dr. P. Sasikala, Dr. S. Kannan and Dr. N.R. Shibaja. The present Head of the Department is Mr. T. Sundara Mathan. The Department continually produces 100% result from the academic year 2008. Ten batches of students have obtained Master’s Degree till date and are successfully placed in renowned institutions. S. Annlin (2008-2009) added laurel to our college securing first place in University Rank List. As a part of curriculum enrichment, seminars are conducted on current topics and the students are taken to various places as an educational and recreational activity.
